How Do Doctors Prescribe Medical Marijuana to Cancer Patients?
Question by Alyssa Sharpe: how do doctors prescribe medical marijuana to cancer patients?
how can they prescribe medical marijuana to cancer patients without knowing if they are going to sell it or abuse it?
okay let me explain exactly what i’m looking for, I want to know how does the doctor prescribe it? as in do they ship it to a pharmacy? or do they just directly give it to them? Are they smoking it at home? Or right in the hospital? and NO i don’t believe that a cancer patient would sell it but i’m not saying they couldn’t. I am just curious how they use it. I’m not trying to talk down about cancer patients i just would like an answer. If you must know its for a report i’m not asking this for my own health. so can i please just get an answer? Thank You.

How can a doctor prescribe narcotic pain pills to cancer patients without knowing if they are going to sell it or abuse it?

A cancer patient has a pretty intimate relationship with their doctor. The doc by that time has already probably prescribed regular meds by that time and has been able to observe whether or not they are working or whether or not the person is abusing them. Fact is, a patient can abuse or sell any number of drugs. The Dr. has to make a determination if they are the kind of person that will do that or not and follow their best instinct. At least if they sell their marijuana or use too much nobody will die from it like if they sold their oxycodone or something. I mean it isn’t an ideal situation but not the worst. Most cancer patients want their medical weed and would not be inclined to sell it.
