Problems With Food Addiction?
Question by Lucy loved life…: Problems with food addiction?
I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but I’m having a lot of trouble with food and I want to know if this is normal.
I’m starting to eat all the time now and it’s not even about hunger…it’s just eating.
I’m trying to diet because I’m starting to get a little curvier (125 pounds, 5’5″) and it’s becoming increasingly hard.
Can you tell me what’s wrong and how to stop it?

when i was younger (i’m 13 and still growing so im always hungry), i remember that when i was bored i tended to eat. maybe you are really bored? chew some gum. if its just about the flavor, chewing/bubble gum can help a lot.

Food addiction is a true illness and needs to be treated just like any other addiction including substance (ab)use, gambling and spending/shopping. Please talk with a licensed therapist that deals with addiction preferably food issues. It’s not really about the food as you mentioned but about the emotions that lead to the compulsive eating and learning ways to cope with those feelings.
